Even though Tyrise Elam was born in Leonardtown, Maryland, South Carolina has always been his home. Tyrise first moved to South Carolina when he was just an infant. His mother was given the option to transfer to Charleston, SC or Tampa, FL. The family decided to plant their roots in Ladson, SC. While in Ladson, Tyrise attended various schools like, Spann Elementary and Oakbrook Elementary.

After spending a couple of years in Ladson, Tyrise and his family then moved to Summerville/Goose Creek. During this time, Tyrise attended Devon Forest Elementary, College Park Middle & Stratford High School – Where he also met his soon to be wife. Graduating in 2007, Tyrise then went to live in Columbia, SC while attending Benedict College.

While at Benedict, Tyrise had to make some tough life choices. Stay in school and struggle financially while also accruing student loan debt or return back to Charleston and start working. Ultimately, Tyrise decided it was best that he went back to Charleston. While in Charleston, Tyrise worked on new construction for Industrial and Commercial buildings – Installing electrical wires for MUSC Dental School of Medicine along with Installing Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) for Sanders Clyde Elementary.

Learning these new skills really helped excel Tyrise into the next journey of life. Tyrise left new construction to focus 100% on residential services through Pardee Service experts, working as an HVAC Installer for 2.5 years. This was Tyrise’ s first opportunity to feel as if he is being impactful to the community.

In 2011, Tyrise received the greatest news on his 21^st birthday – his first child would be born later in the year. With a child on the way and work slowing down at Pardee. Tyrise needed to find a job that was more flexible but also secure in a sense for his family. This is when he found Boeing in 2012. 2012 was a great year for Tyrise, not only did he find better employment, he also married his wife, Shannon, establishing his house as a home.

Tyrise has worked for the Boeing Company going on 10 years now. During this time, Tyrise has stayed actively engaged with family life, his community and education. Tyrise welcomed home two beautiful girls, growing his home from a family of three to a family of five. Performing community services for Joseph Pye Elementary, Ronald McDonald House, Tri-County Ministries & currently volunteering as a Firefighter within is community & county. While working with Tyrise, you may hear the phrase, “If you are not learning, you are not growing”. This advice was given to him early on in his Boeing career and truly resonated with Tyrise.

With that in mind, Tyrise took advantage of Boeings’ educational benefits. He attended The University of Villanova – Six Sigma: Green Belt, The University of South Carolina – Six Sigma: Black Belt & Project Management along with Dale Carnegie – High Impactful Presentations. Enhancing his analytical and problem solving skills along with public speaking. Furthermore, Tyrise is currently enrolled at Charleston Southern University pursuing a dual major in Project Management & Organizational Management.
